Job Purpose:
This is a position in the Inorganic Metals department of a production-type analytical laboratory. Sample matrices would include, but not limited to: air, steel, oil, refractory brick, liquid, paint. Analytical Methods include: NIOSH, OSHA, ASTM, EPA, as well as others. Candidate must have good problem solving skills and time-management skills as well as safe work practices. Instrument maintenance/repair knowledge a plus.

Primary Daily Activities:
  • Preparation and analysis of samples.
  • Data review/interpretation.
  • QA/QC data entry.

Instruments include:
  • ICP
  • FAA
  • GFAA

Laboratory Technician - NACE

Job Purpose:
Technician is responsible for the setup, performance, and cleanup of a variety of tests within areas of responsibility where basic knowledge of the underlying scientific and engineering fundamentals is required. Provides feedback regarding tests and performs other duties as directed. Operates designated instruments that includes load cell, dial indicator, calipers, micrometer, gas delivery system, pH meter, Intron tensile tester, and specialized laboratory equipment. Performs chemistry related tasks such as solution preparation and titration. Testing setup, maintenance, and equipment cleaning.

Need to be able to set up calibration, and perform repair on instrumentation. Responsible for recording data, entering into LIMS system and reporting to client. Gathers and maintains specified records of engineering data such as drawings, spreadsheets and instructions. Performs computations by substituting numbers into specified formulas; plots data and draws simple graphs. Provide support for the lab by purchasing needed supplies and equipment for testing

Skills:
  • Knowledge of scientific and physical material properties attained through academic courses and/or work experience.
  • Experience in materials testing preferably with steel.
  • Follow specific test method and record data.
  • Must be able to carry 40 lbs up stairs. (60-80 lbs occasionally)
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Good mechanical skills with knowledge of gas plumbing and electricity.
  • Able to read technical drawings and use measuring devises such as calipers, dial indicators, and micrometers.
  • Familiarity with Nace methodology TM-0177 and TM-0284, Rockwell hardness and Instron Tensile testing a plus.

PC/Desktop Support Technician

Job Purpose:
The Clark Testing Group is seeking applicants for the position of Desktop Support Specialist to perform various IT functions including support and maintenance of in-house technology equipment and IT assets. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring its optimal performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a professional, timely and accurate fashion, and provide assistance when and where required. The position requires experience administering Microsoft applications including Windows (7, Vista, XP, and 2000) Office (2007, 2003, and 2000) and a working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Active Directory.

Experience or familiarity with SQL Server 2000, Avaya Merlin Magix, Asterisk PBX, Symantec Backup Exec, Watchguard Firewalls, Ubuntu Server, PHP, ASP Classic, JavaScript, and HTML are not required but highly favorable.

The successful applicant will have at least an AS degree in Computer/Information Sciences or related field and 2 to 3 years experience working within a client/server environment. Candidates applying should state salary requirements for their application/resume to be considered.
